Actress Courteney Cox has graced our screens for years, with her most famous role probably as Monica in Friends. While she has had non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the past, she recently revealed that she’s now all about being natural and taking care of her body to help ensure she looks and feels great.
In an interview with New Beauty, Cox revealed just how important nutrition is to her wellbeing, explaining that she’s been diagnosed with the MTHFR gene mutation, which affects how her body methylates.
That means she has to be careful with her diet to ensure that she’s absorbing the nutrients she needs from her food. Once she found out what she needed to do, she noticed changes very quickly.
“I felt so much better and had more energy. I used to get so tired and would literally crumble after I ate something,” Cox explained.
She was also very honest about her appearance, noting that she thinks the dermal fillers she had earlier in her life meant she didn’t look like herself, adding that by trying to keep up with the Hollywood ideal she only made things worse.
Her top tip is to start taking care of your body when you’re young, because it will make a difference when you get older. “It’s good to start on your body when you’re 25 or 30, not 53. That’s the moral of the story,” she said.
